The Iron Guard Award is the most prestigious award that a State Parks Junior Lifeguard can receive. This award represents commitment, determination, and an indescribable love for the ocean and for the State Park Junior Guard Program.

 

The Iron Guard Award signifies that you are an outstanding future candidate for the position of California State Lifeguard. The Iron Guard Award is given to Junior Lifeguards who excel in an ocean environment, surfacing events, and first aid skills.
